Why did the pilgrims come to north america on the mayflower?
To flee from persecution
Reply:because the aprilflower wasn't available at the time.
Reply:Plane tickets were too expensive and every hotel in Santa Cruz was full.
Reply:To flee religious persecution in Britain ( I believe)
Reply:i'll tell you what, if i was a brit back in that time, i'd be of those going to america, not staying in Britain.
Reply:to kill the natives
Reply:The reason the Pilgrims came to north America is because they wanted a better chance at a decent life. The people in England at the time wanted them to practice the religion they wanted them to practice. So some of the Pilgrims had enough and so they sailed to America because they wanted to be free and out from underneath the rulers thumb. They paid a Hervey price for that freedom. Some of them have gotten sick crossing the Atlantic ocean on the way to America.
Reply:As in the case of William Bradford he first went to Holland to avoid relgious persecution, and much of it from his own prominent family who were aghast by his refusal to accept the church of England, for some tho' they were so downtrodden that life would be better for them anywhere but where they were. Some actually were petty criminals looking to escape prosecution, so they fled to where they could
