bread, ale, salted pork, pickled beef. Read James Deetz "The Times of Their Lives"...awesome book with lots of first-hand accounts/primary source material.

What did the pilgrims eat while they were aboard the Mayflower?
Hardtack, salt horse, dried. peas, beans, cheese, butter, and water. But at least one of them snuck in a Hershey Bar. They unearthed the wrapper near Plymouth Rock.
