Should Eliot Spitzer have resigned as Governor of NY, Clinton didn't, Eisenhower had Kay and John Kennedy-wow?

Since when is the F.B.I. involved in prostitution - The Mann Act...Isn't that a stretch of the law in this case?





Money laundering?... A man tries to hide payment for a prostitute from his wife by manipulating his own personal accounts...isn't that a stretch when the law was drawn up to guard against terrorists, drug lords, organized crime and the like.





Does the charges against Eliot Spitzer as Governor of New York seem to have personal overtones and should the F.B.I. be investigating crimes that have nothing more than a small fine and rarely jail time and/or probation?





In the wiretapped conversation, an employee of the escort service Emperors Club VIP was heard telling the front desk of the Mayflower Hotel that flowers were being sent to Spitzer and seeking to confirm that he would be there.





A team of agents from Washington and New York was sent to the hotel to stake out Spitzer.





"Spitzer spent part of the day and evening at the hotel, but if he had a date from the escort service, the agents did not see her or she did not show up," the Post reported. "Spitzer was accompanied to Washington by members of his police detail, who were apparently unaware of the FBI surveillance even though an officer from the detail watched the governor's room from across the hall, through a cracked door."





The Mayflower is the hotel where according to court papers "Client-9" - identified as Spitzer - met with a call girl named "Kristen" on Feb. 13.





A law enforcement official told the Post that investigators have found at least eight occasions when Spitzer used the Emperors Club over the last few years.

He could not be effective in his job with all this going on. I think it is overblown, but when you are in office you are held to a higher standard.

Reply:I just despise they way some are attempting to minimize Spitzers actions with a prostitute and paint it as just a "mistake" or a normal behavior for a "powerful" man in his posistion. First of all did you ever consider what just a "compromising posistion this put him in and the state of New York? In terms of being possibly blackmailed or used by others to do their bidding for fear of discovery? Marilyn Monroe had an affair with Bobby and JFK and was silenced for the same reasons. And our nations leaders should be held to higher ethical and moral standards than the rest of us! It somes with the territory they have choosen!

Reply:The Mafia set him up - he apparently didnt learn too much from the capos he has ben putting away with no mercy - that vengence is best served cold - the mafia hates self righteous hypocrites in law enforcement, especially when law enforcement uses their position to compete in the rackets .., but Spitzer didnt know too much about the law apparently, because he went to Harvard, there they teach you how to be connected - but connections dont last too long when you are taught to be incompetant
