Why do people keep telling me my family were immigrants this is not true we came over on the Mayflower?

We fought in the revolution we founded this country we never immigrated to The United States of America.

Why do people keep telling me my family were immigrants this is not true we came over on the Mayflower?
To be honest, u are. If you came on the Mayflower, you didnt find this country. My people were here first, how can you find something, if people are already there...................We were here first as in Native Americans
Reply:Every body who has set foot on america is an immimagrant. Native americans and others came over the bering sea when it was frozen. We came by boat. We all didnt come from the mayflower. This Country is built on immigration. Every one of our ancestors have moved here by boat. We Didnt find the country. We made the country by winning the revolutionary.
Reply:if you weren't here from the start and you came over on a boat, then you are an immigrant. which means we'er like all immigrants
Reply:You don't see how this was still a country (inhabited by people) before it was ever called The United States of America, and your ancestors are NOT natives to this land?
Reply:everyone that was not an american indian were immigrants. even if they came over on the mayflower. those people left their home country to go to another one. they my friend were immigrants. fyi. columbus did not discover america, it was never lost the indians already knew where it was.
Reply:They (your ancestors) fought in the Revolution. They never immigrated to the USA. The things that happened in your family had little to nothing to do with you and everything to do with the choices that they made. If they immigrated to the US, then you would be in the USA. Another thing, all the things that "these people" are saying. Who are "these people" If these people keep saying negative things, why are you associating with "these people." You should associate with 'other people."
Reply:Must be a very deep question. Since you lost all your points.
Reply:We escape to make a better live for ourselves. Because your ancesters got their first. Just like a stop sign with 4-way stop. If your ancestors did not leave, your name will not be "Princess".
Reply:what do you mean "we?" YOU actually fought in the American Revolution? Interesting....you must be pretty old!
Reply:The people who keep telling you that, want you to believe that the American Indians were the only "true Americans" because they were here first. However, this is not true. The Indians were on this land before we were, true enough, but this land was not The United States yet. This land was a wilderness with parts of it ruled by different Indian tribes. The fact is, your ancestors who were own the Mayflower and my ancestors who later migrated from England in 1743, were among those colonists living on this continent who founded the great US of A. It was our ancestors who founded this country. Does that make our ancestors "immigrants"? Maybe immigrants to this land but founders of this country. However, what is most important is that we are a country of "all people" "united together" who stand for liberty, freedom and equal rights for all! Isn't that truly what really counts? God Bless America and all the people and cultures that make up our GREAT "united" country!
Reply:ILL WHY are you here again? Sigh. to spew some more hatred? get a life.

You're an idiot.

2 points.
Reply:you, personally, may not be an immigrant but your family certainly did immigrate to america, there's no denying it. everyone in america is an immigrant or atleast the descendant of immigrants (minus the natives but even they were nomadic).
Reply:Well, technically the folks who came over on the Mayflower (or other early colonists) were immigrants of a sort - they came here from somewhere else. Then again, the first Indians were immigrants from Asia. The only place on this planet that people are not immigrants is east central Africa.

Bear in mind that around 1620 there was not a nation here, nor borders as we think of them, and certainly no immigration laws to break. So the comparison to today's illegal invaders is not valid.
Reply:immigrant....yea yea thats exactly what ppl mean when they say immigrants! your anscestor were not the Native Americans! go read a book! oooh so you just appeared in this land out of thin air! woooow
Reply:regardless of what 'ship' you came over on, if you weren't born in the U.S. and you came here for better opportunities/freedom than you're an immigrant. The 'mayflower' is nothing but a hyped up name for a huge boat full of immigrants. you're no better than the rest of us and you yourself were not on the mayflower so you really don't know what went on back then...have you ever heard the REAL story of thanksgiving? (Not the sugar coated one they teach you in grade school)
Reply:They mean, unless you are a native american, your family had to come over here too at some point. Even if it was before the formation of what is now the U.S.

Technically, you are an immigrant.
