Why did the piligrams draw up the mayflower compact?
During the pilgrims time. Slavery was at its peak. Africans were being brought over to the colonies. the Pilgrims came over for religious freedom.





The Atlantic Slave Trade. ever heard of it? well. that was going on. and the Mayflower was nothing of that sort. The Portuguese came over the the Americas looking for new land to conquer and for room to form plantations. Sugar, tobacco, all that good stuff. the Pilgrims settles in the Tobacco area Im. pretty sure. close enough.
