The Mayflower or the The NIna, La Pinta and The Santa Maria,?
Well, I believe it was the Santa Maria that landed first, although really the first colonies date back to the 1600's.





America was founded, by the best minds of Europe of the time, who hated the oligarchy, and wanted to found a new nation, on different principles, to defeat the idea of "empire". { "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created Equal, and are endowed by their Creator, with certain Inalienable Rights...."}





The United States of America, shares a common tradition and culture with all of South America, in that we do not tolerate oligarchies in this hemisphere.





It is unfortunate, that in today's modern day, that there are those in America, who forget their heritage, and who also refuse to take responsibility for creating the economic conditions of misery, in many parts of the world ("Free Trade", "globalization", NAFTA, etc, which helped to create the maquiladoras, etc. which has led to a jump in immigration from nations in South America!), which is why so many risk death, to seek a better life.
