E. None, of the above?

The Separatists were on a Mission to land outside of English rule. Granted permission to settle Virginia from the "London Company" They were to land no further North, than Present day New Jersey.

Of course, they did land further North. All the way to Plymouth Mass. But, King James believed his only way to keep allegiance of the Pilgrims was to in fact allow their freedom, and allow to go ahead with their document.

The Document itself was not signed prior to Leaving England. In fact it was when They arrived in America and while in Port at Provinctown Harbor on November 11, 1620..

However it wasn't until 1793, when Alden Bradford Published "A topographical Description of Duxborough, in the County of Plymouth", that the Phrase "Mayflower Compact" was coined.

Prior to that it was called "an association and agreement (by William Bradford) OR, "combination" (by Plymouth Colony Records) OR "Solemn Contract" (by Thomas Prince.) and Finally, "the Covenant (by Rev. Charles Turner)
Reply:A)law and order contract
